Seneca Australian Shares Fund

Seneca Financial Solutions is a Melbourne-based boutique investment management and financial advisory firm established in 2016. At the date of the Information Memorandum, it managed approximately A$300 million across two wholesale managed funds and six separately managed accounts. The manager uses active, bottom-up fundamental research, supported by macroeconomic and technical analysis. Its investment philosophy favours quality, profitable growth businesses with strong balance sheets, sustainable competitive advantages and management teams aligned with shareholders. Portfolio manager Luke Laretive is a co-founder of the firm.

Seneca Australian Shares Trust is benchmarked against the S&P/ASX 200 Accumulation Index and aims to outperform after fees. It invests long-only in approximately 20 to 50 liquid ASX-listed companies, and may hold up to 50% cash. The fund does not use derivatives or leverage. It favours profitable, growth-oriented businesses with strong balance sheets, sustainable competitive advantages and aligned management. Security selection combines bottom-up fundamental valuation, macroeconomic research and technical analysis, while portfolio construction considers sector exposure, market capitalisation, gearing, style factors, management quality and risk.
